Jason started his public sector career within the military as a RAAF Police Officer completing three years before moving into state government with Qld Transport Department. After several years as an on road Inspector, Jason moved into investigation, prosecutions and finally ended his time with Qld Transport as the State Compliance Trainer. Looking for new challenge and direction, Jason moved departments to the Office of Fair Trading as an Investigation Officer looking at real estate and motor dealers. Jason returned once again to complaint and compliance training and travelled Qld ensuring the development of OFT staff was up to date and relevant to modern compliance methodology. In 2010 Jason was part of a national development project for the introduction of the Australian Consumer Law, conducting training once again across Qld, through to NSW and Tasmania. In 2011 Jason became the manager of the Complaint Intake team, one of the busiest and most productive areas in OFT. Handling approx. 16000 complaints and 2000 low level investigations per year, it was never a dull day. In 2016 an internal re-structure saw Jason assigned to the new position of Business Improvement Manager. In this position Jason is responsible for leading the new direction in staff learning and development, leadership and accountability.
